Abstract: A cooling system for a linear actuator is described. The cooling system includes an iron core having multiple slots, wound electrical coils of a particular design shape, and cooling plates. Each electrical coil is shaped the same and in a ring configuration that has two opposite sides of the ring configured to fit into two different slots of the iron core. Each cooling plate may be shaped to mirror at least part of the contour of a coil to fit into at least one slot of the iron core. The particular design of the coils and cooling plates allows them to be stacked into multiple slots of the iron core such that there are no volume conflicts with each other.
