Abstract: Present invention relates to the cover member (100) for a connector (104). The cover member (100) having a casing (102) and one or more pins (110). The casing (102) is formed by a base wall (108) and a continuous sidewall (106) extending orthogonally from the base wall (108). The base wall (108) and the continuous sidewall (106) define a cavity therebetween to receive the connector (104). The casing (102) having an opening opposite the base wall (108) through which the connector (104) is received. Further, the one or more pins (110) extend towards the opening from the base wall (108). The one or more pins (110) are configured to short one or more terminals (112) of the connector (104) when the cover member (100) encloses the connector (104), thereby protecting the connector (104) from the external debris such as dust, water and the like.
