Abstract: A Freshwater Restoration Robot is an innovative solution designed to address the growing problem of plastic pollution in freshwater bodies. This Semi-autonomous robotic system employs advanced technologies such as ultrasonic sensors, SLAM mapping, and robotic arms to scan, detect, and remove underwater plastic waste that conventional methods often miss. Beyond cleaning, the robot contributes to environmental restoration by planting nutrient-enriched aquatic vegetation using a seed shooter, thereby supporting biodiversity and improving water quality. Controlled by a combination of Raspberry Pi and STM32 microcontrollers, and equipped with BLOC thrusters for precise movement, the robot continuously monitors parameters like pH, depth, and battery status to operate efficiently and safely. By combining underwater cleanup with ecosystem rehabilitation, CRABBER offers a comprehensive, sustainable approach to restoring freshwater environments impacted by pollution.
