A control unit calculates crop damage probability, shelter-induced fungal disease risk, solar exposure penalty, and wind-load safety conditions for multiple deployment positions using a multi-objective optimization framework. The system further performs staged actuation of a retractable covering assembly through intermediate deployment positions with continuous tension validation and dynamic wind-load re-evaluation to ensure structural safety during movement. Following rainfall events, the system executes an adaptive post-rain drying operation by partially retracting the shelter when disease recovery risk exceeds a threshold and renewed rainfall probability remains low. The invention improves crop protection, reduces fungal disease propagation, preserves beneficial solar exposure, and enhances operational safety and efficiency in precision agricultural environments.
