MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611063272 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on May 19, 2026, for Cruise Control System And Method Thereof.
Inventor includes Jayant Shringi.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: An adaptive cruise control system (100) for real-time longitudinal vehicle regulation is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a sensing unit (105) configured to acquire real-time data related to vehicle speed, lead vehicle distance, relative velocity, environmental conditions, and driver input, a controller (110) comprising a processing unit (110a) and a storage unit (110b), and an actuator (115). The processing unit (110a) executes a perception module, a context-encoding module, and a meta-reinforcement learning control unit to generate task-specific control parameters using a pre-trained meta-policy network. The system (100) determines an actuation command via a task-specific control network and performs rapid policy adaptation using locally collected data upon detection of context variation. The actuator (115) converts the actuation command into throttle and braking signals. The system ensures adaptive, context-aware, and safe vehicle speed and spacing control with improved efficiency and driving comfort.
