MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511008888 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 03, 2025, for Cutting Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Renu; and Dr. Sachin Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A cutting assistive device, comprises of an inverted U-shaped channel 101 developed to be accommodated over spine of a knife, a push button 102 integrated on the channel 101 is pressed by a user to activate the device, an ultrasonic sensor integrated in channel 101 to detect size of the spine, a motorized drawer arrangement 103 integrated in the channel 101 , to extend/retract in a manner that channel 101 gets accommodated over entire the spine of the knife, a rectangular frame 105 by means of a slider 106 to translate the frame 105 to position the frame 105 at desired location and apply effort on frame 105 to cut any item placed under sharp edge, an a imaging unit 107 to detect type of items, and multiple electromagnetic springs 108 to expand in order to exert additional pressure over the spine in order to cut the items.
