Abstract: ABSTRACT DATA SEGMENTATION FOR AMBIENT IOT DEVICES There is disclosed a reader comprising: means for transmitting, to an ambient IoT device, segmentation information indicating a supported segmentation of data to be transmitted by the ambient IoT device to the reader; means for receiving a random access signal from the ambient IoT device; means for receiving, a data transmission from the ambient IoT device after reception of the random access signal, wherein the data transmission comprises a data segment of the data segmented based on the segmentation information. There is also disclosed an ambient IoT device comprising: means for receiving, from a reader, segmentation information indicating a supported segmentation of data to be transmitted by the ambient IoT device to the reader; means for transmitting a random access signal to the reader, and means for performing a data transmission to the reader after transmission of the random access signal, wherein the data transmission comprises a data segment of the data segmented based on the segmentation information. FIG. 6 is proposed for publication.
