Abstract: The present invention discloses a blockchain and Interplanetary File System-based judicial electronic evidence preservation scheme designed to address the low credibility, data sharing barriers, and regulatory supervision deficiencies that characterise centralised electronic evidence storage in judicial proceedings. The scheme combines a FISCO BCOS permissioned blockchain network with a decentralised IPFS storage layer and a suite of six purpose-built smart contracts to deliver an integrated, automated, and cryptographically verifiable judicial evidence management platform. Electronic evidence files—encompassing video recordings, photographic images, and electronic documents—are uploaded to IPFS, which generates a unique content-addressed root hash for each file through a Merkle directed acyclic graph structure. This hash is locked onto the blockchain, irrevocably binding the off-chain stored file to the immutable on-chain record. Smart contracts govern case registration, three-tier judicial authority management, inter-institutional case data sharing, selective public disclosure of case information, evidence download, and regulatory validation, serving four participant categories: judicial institutions, third-party organisations, regulatory agencies, and the public. Simulation experiments demonstrate that the scheme achieves a peak throughput of two hundred and forty-seven transactions per second on modest server hardware, with superior fault tolerance under elevated concurrency compared to on-chain-only architectures. IPFS transmission speeds confirm suitability for real-time judicial data sharing. Comparison with existing schemes confirms that the present invention is the only proposed architecture simultaneously supporting scalability, case registration, data sharing, data download, regulatory review, permission management, and public information disclosure.
