Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a deep sea mining feasibility simulation and immersive visualization system comprising a client computing device, a server, and a virtual-reality wearable visualization device. The client computing device includes a browser interface that receives parameters associated with a deep sea mining vehicle configuration, riser pipe arrangement, ocean operating zone, and mission economics data. The server generates a parametric three-dimensional vehicle model, accesses ocean-zone data, calculates hydraulic load-chain output, calculates structural output associated with the riser pipe arrangement, calculates mission-performance output, and generates visualization data representing the vehicle model and calculated outputs. The virtual-reality wearable visualization device includes a head-mounted display and a rendering processor that renders the visualization data as an immersive three-dimensional simulation environment for inspection of the deep sea mining vehicle configuration.
