MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521086236 A) filed by Pandit Deendayal Energy University on September 11, 2025, for Design And Development Of Static Var Compensator For Reactive Power Compensation And Power Factor Improvement As Energy Saver In Industrial And Commercial Sectors.

Inventors include Dr. Jitendra G. Jamnani; and Manan Pathak.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The titled invention discloses a Static VAR Compensator (SVC) for reactive power compensation and power factor improvement in AC power systems. The system incorporates Thyristor Switched Capacitors (TSC) (1) and Thyristor Controlled Reactors (TCR) (2) to dynamically manage reactive power. Simulation and hardware results demonstrate the system's ability to improve voltage stability, reduce transmission losses, and enhance overall power quality. The SVC system offers a versatile and efficient solution for modern power system challenges. Figure -1
