Abstract: The present invention discloses a polymeric spray formulation designated as C-BPH-DM developed for diabetic wound care. The formulation comprises an aqueous leaf extract of Murraya koenigii incorporated into a chitosan—alginate polyelectrolyte complex along with pharmaceutically acceptable stabilizing and viscosity-modifying agents. The formulation is developed through systematic optimization of polymer concentration, extract loading, and spray characteristics to achieve uniform droplet distribution and sustained release of plant- derived bioactive compounds. The optimized spray demonstrates antioxidant activity, antimicrobial efficacy against wound-associated microorganisms, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The invention provides a stable, scalable, and non-invasive therapeutic system suitable for diabetic wound management.
