Abstract: The design of a professional utility table has been developed for professional ironers (Presswala’s). The design development is the outcome of the thought process for developing some better-designed utilities for different professionals. In this row, a work and motion study was conducted for ironers in the region. It is found that there is scope for improvement in the design of their working table which may have ergonomic considerations with increased utility. The table is designed with ergonomic considerations. Concerning the body movement of the ironer during the work, a semi-circular curve has been created in the middle of the back side of the table. This will enable the ironer to work a little inside the table and can better access the space to his left, right, and front. It is designed to accommodate two laundry bins inside the table on the left and right side of the ironer. These bins may be used for keeping unfinished clothes. That will help to avoid the issue of piling up of the clothes on the table. There are also provisions of Cash Box, Hanger Rod, Rack for finished articles, and storage box in the table. With such provisions, table will remain organized, untidy and the ironer will have more working space. Such an organized table may improve the efficiency and performance of the ironers.
