Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention discloses a bioactive polymeric spray formulation designated as C- EcoDerm-Heal developed for the management of diabetic foot ulcers. The formulation comprises an aqueous leaf extract o f Aegle marmelos incorporated into a structured chitosanalginate polymeric network along with pharmaceutically acceptable stabilizing agents. The ionic interaction between chitosan and alginate results in formation of a polyelectrolyte complex that enables sustained release of plant-derived bioactive compounds. The developed formulation demonstrates antioxidant activity, antimicrobial efficacy against wound-associated microorganisms, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The spray- based delivery system provides uniform wound surface coverage and supports maintenance of a moist microenvironment. The invention provides a stable, scalable, and non-invasive therapeutic system suitable for diabetic foot ulcer applications.
