Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention discloses a biopolymer-based spray formulation designated as C- SmartDerm-Heal developed for diabetic wound care. The formulation comprises an aqueous leaf extract of Ocimum sanctum integrated into a chitosan—alginate polyelectrolyte complex along with pharmaceutically acceptable stabilizing and viscosity- modifying agents. The electrostatic interaction between chitosan and alginate forms a structured polymeric network capable of sustained and localized release of plant-derived bioactive constituents. The developed spray demonstrates antioxidant activity, antimicrobial efficacy against wound- associated pathogens, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The spray system ensures uniform wound coverage, supports moisture balance, and enhances cellular migration in vitro. The invention provides a stable and scalable therapeutic platform suitable for diabetic wound management
