MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641071344 A) filed by Cvr College Of Engineering on June 09, 2026, for Development Of Ecofriendly Sound Absorbing Composite Panels With A Biodegradable Epoxy Resin Periphery And Core Made Of Blend Of Fibers Of Agricultural Waste - Rice Husk, Sugar Cane Bagasse And Coconut Coir.
Inventor includes M. Venkata Ramana.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: A composite panel can be prepared using a biodegradable epoxy resin periphery and core with a blend of. coconut coir, sugar cane bagasse and rice husk. A multi layered composite panel can be produced with an outer layer of biodegradable epoxy resin and core - made of compact of rice husk, sugar cane bagasse and coconut coir. Compact of these fibres are blend with starch to have desired porosity. With biodegradable epoxy resin on periphery, this porous multi layered panel can be used for improved absorption of sound. Compact of these fibers in core, provide different densities at different regions of compact. This varied density and varied porosity can act as efficient absorption medium of sound waves of wide frequency range. The produced panel improves coefficients of sound absorption with less impact on surrounding atmosphere. This invention is an ecofriendly solution and finds applications in automobiles and building applications.
