Abstract: Provided is a development support device capable of obtaining the total number of steps for predicting a load and the time required when a program is executed. A development support device of an embodiment is for supporting development of a program including a function block. The development support device of the embodiment comprises: a step counter that counts the number of execution steps of the function block indicating the number of processes to be executed in the function block; a number counter that counts the number of times of use of the function block used in the program; and an arithmetic operation unit that calculates the product of the number of times of use of the function block and the number of execution steps of the function block, and outputs the number of execution steps of the function block in the program.
