Abstract: ABSTRACT “DIRECT-TYPE MULTI-SHELF PASSIVE SOLAR DRYER" A domestic direct-type multi-shelf passive solar dryer apparatus (100) for drying agricultural produce is disclosed. The apparatus (100) comprises a glazed cabinet enclosure (100) containing a plurality of vertically arranged perforated drying trays (103), air inlet openings (107) at a lower portion, air outlet openings (108) at an upper portion, selective thermal insulation (105), and an inclination mechanism (116) for solar exposure. The invention introduces an integrated internal air-management module (109) embedded within the cabinet (100), comprising vertical distribution channels (110) along interior walls, horizontal tray-level distribution channels (111), air deflector elements (112) positioned adjacent to tray edges, pressure- equalization pathways (113) between vertical regions, and a thermal distribution plate (114) located below the trays. The internal arrangement forms a structured airflow distribution system that utilizes buoyancy-driven natural convection to achieve substantially uniform airflow and temperature distribution across all trays (103). The apparatus (100) enables consistent and contamination-free drying while maintaining a simple, passive, and energy-independent construction without the need for external collectors, fans, or powered components.
