MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647085790 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy on July 13, 2026, for Discrete Fourier Transform-Spread-Orthogonal Frequency-Division Modulation Allocation For Wide Bandwidth Operation.

Inventors include Tervo, Oskari; Tiirola, Esa Tapani; Liljestrm, Henrik Christian; Yli-Kaakinen, Juha; Pikkarainen, Matti; and Tervo, Valtteri Topias.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for determining valid allocation sizes for DFT-s-OFDM. One method may include determining whether a number of PRBs of a data channel is greater than a threshold; based upon the determination that the number of PRBs is greater than the threshold, determining validity of at least one allocation option for PRBs of the data channel; and transmitting the data channel according to at least one valid allocation option. The at least one allocation option defines a bandwidth of the data channel in terms of the number of PRBs.
