Abstract: The present invention discloses a disposable irrigation guard attachment intended for use with surgical dental handpieces, implant drills, and rotary instruments during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. The device comprises a transparent shield body having a central attachment opening configured to detachably engage a surgical handpiece or drill assembly adjacent to the operative region. The shield is designed to reduce outward splash, aerosol dispersion, and fluid contamination generated during irrigation-assisted drilling and bone cutting procedures. In one embodiment, the device includes a snap-fit attachment mechanism enabling rapid placement and removal from different surgical handpieces without interfering with instrument rotation, irrigation flow, or surgical visibility. The transparent configuration permits continuous visualization of the operative site while functioning as a physical barrier against blood-contaminated irrigation spray, bone particles, saliva, and aerosols. The device may be manufactured from lightweight medical-grade polymeric material and supplied in sterile disposable form for single-use clinical application. The invention improves infection control, enhances operative cleanliness, minimizes aerosol exposure to surgeons and assistants, and contributes to safer surgical environments during implant surgery, trauma procedures, third molar surgery, endodontic surgery, and related oral surgical interventions. The present invention therefore provides a simple, low-cost, and efficient aerosol and splash control accessory specifically adapted for oral and maxillofacial surgical applications.
