MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073670 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for Distributed Cascade Fault Isolation And Partial String Recovery System And Method Thereof.

Inventor includes Ankur Jain.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT DISTRIBUTED CASCADE FAULT ISOLATION AND PARTIAL STRING RECOVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF The present invention discloses a distributed battery fault isolation system (100) for a high-voltage battery energy storage system comprising a plurality of battery modules (102) connected in a series string. Each battery module (102) is associated with a local fault monitoring unit (104) configured to monitor operational conditions of the associated battery module and a local isolation unit (106) configured to selectively electrically isolate the associated battery module from the series string. Upon detection of a fault condition within a battery module (102), the corresponding local fault monitoring unit (104) initiates operation of the associated local isolation unit (106), thereby initiating a distributed cascade isolation process causing a plurality of battery modules (102) to independently transition to isolated states. A faulty battery module (102) is subsequently identified using operational signatures and excluded from the series string, and remaining non-faulty battery modules (102) are reconfigured to restore operation of the battery energy storage system.
