Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a distributed cryptographic security system (100) for adaptive secure communication, including one or more computing nodes (102A-N) operating in a federated network environment (104), each computing node including at least one processor(106) configured to (a) compute a local threat value based on one or more monitored security indicators, (b) generating a validated global threat value by executing a distributed consensus process, (c) validate progression of a cryptographic state using a post-quantum authorization mechanism, (d) generating a forward-only cryptographic state progression structure associated with cryptographic state evolution, (e) generating one or more session keys based on the forward-only cryptographic state progression structure, (f) control a security state transition policy based on the validated global threat value, and (g) the cryptographic state progression is dependent upon distributed threat evaluation performed across the one or more computing nodes.
