Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a domain-specific conversational query processing system comprising an input interface, an output interface, a memory that stores conversation history and a local vector database, a network interface that provides access to an external live information source, a large language model inference engine, and a processing unit. The processing unit supplies a received user query and conversation history to the large language model inference engine, receives tool-call requests, directs proprietary-information and external-information retrieval requests to respective information sources, and executes corresponding retrieval operations concurrently. Returned retrieval results are associated with respective tool-call identifiers and stored in the conversation history. The updated conversation history is supplied to the large language model inference engine for synthesis of a conversational response, and the conversational response is transmitted to the output interface for presentation to a user.
