MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641120102 A) filed by Per Institute Of Technology on October 07, 2026, for Drone-Mounted Non-Contact Radar Scanning System For Detecting Water Stagnation And Localising Obstru.
Inventors include Dr. Magesh B; Dr. Abhilash V; Gopinath C; Bavinesh U; and Aathithiya T.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: A drone carries a stabilised microwave radar head, optical geometry sensor and inertial sensor to inspect accessible PVC pipelines externally. A processor registers radar bursts to axial pipe stations, rejects unqualified sensing poses and compensates measured air-path changes. Pipe-specific calibration supports content-response features. Repeated station observations before and after a recorded upstream water release distinguish transient liquid responses from persistent retention. An upstream- to-downstream response change defines a suspected obstruction interval, subject to excitation and signal quality. Additional scans refine the evidence within calibrated geometry. Reports retain spatial uncertainty and alternative causes, including sag or intended liquid retention, and mark obscured or ambiguous conditions indeterminate. The system supports non-contact screening without inserting a sensor into the pipeline.
