MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202221016092 A) filed by Tata Motors Limited on March 23, 2022, for Dual Chamber Oxygen Concentration Sensor And Nox Sensor Of Internal Combustion Engine And Its Method Thereof.

Inventors include Senthilnathan S; and Vibhav Suresh Kashelkar.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: DUAL CHAMBER OXYGEN CONCENTRATION SENSOR AND NOx SENSOR OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND ITS METHOD THEREOF Embodiments herein provide an oxygen and nitrogen oxide detecting system for detecting an oxygen and nitrogen oxide concentration in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine. The oxygen detecting system includes a dual chamber oxygen concentration sensor (6) for use with a Exhaust after treatment system (1), a solenoid valve (7), and an Engine Control Unit (ECU) (8) connected to the dual chamber oxygen concentration sensor (6). The dual chamber oxygen concentration sensor (6) is interposed on the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine. The dual chamber oxygen concentration sensor (6) detects an oxygen concentration in an upstream channel and downstream channel of the exhaust passage. The solenoid valve (7) is connected between the upstream channel and the downstream channel. The ECU (8) controls the solenoid valve (7) for detecting the oxygen concentration in the upstream channel and the downstream channel of the exhaust passage.
