Abstract: ABSTRACT DUAL-MODE TEMPERATURE ESTIMATION DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING CORE BODY TEMPERATURE OF A USER A dual-mode temperature estimation device (100) has a first thermal sensor (104) that contacts a user's skin region and generates contact thermal measurement parameters, and a non-contact second thermal sensor (106) that generates an infrared skin-temperature measurement of at least part of the same skin region. A processing unit (108) determines a cross-modal thermal relationship, such as a temperature difference, between the two measurements, dynamically determines a skin- related thermal parameter from that relationship, and estimates core body temperature from the contact measurements and that parameter. A deviation of the temperature difference from a predefined value indicates a sensor anomaly, in response to which the estimate is corrected or suppressed. The sensors may be carried in a temple portion (112) of an eyewear frame (110). A system (300) and a method (400) are also provided. The most illustrative drawing is
