Abstract: The present invention relates to a dual-release pharmaceutical capsule comprising two enteric-coated tablets containing a proton pump inhibitor. The capsule comprises a first enteric-coated tablet comprising approximately fifty percent of the total proton pump inhibitor and releasing the drug at a pH of about 6.8, and a second enteric-coated tablet comprising approximately the remaining fifty percent of the proton pump inhibitor and releasing the drug at a pH of about 7.2. The tablets are contained within a capsule shell and enable sequential release of the proton pump inhibitor at predetermined intestinal pH conditions. The proton pump inhibitor may be selected from pantoprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, omeprazole, esomeprazole, dexlansoprazole, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The tablets may further comprise pharmaceutically acceptable excipients and stabilizing agents.
