MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082452 A) filed by Karunya Institute Of Technology And Sciences on July 03, 2026, for Dual-Thruster Co-Planar Tailsitter Aerial Mapping Platform With Integrated Differential-Thrust Yaw Control.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a portable aerial platform performing survey & mapping of large land areas having aerodynamically shaped wing for sufficient lift. This platform has only two control surfaces that will facilitate rolling and pitching motions wherein the yawing motion of the model is controlled by the thrusters. The entire model is battery-powered, controlled by a microcontroller, and actuated by BLDC motors and servo motors. This aerial platform is guided by the ground control station through wireless radio-based communication links in specific MAV link protocol-based hardware. It also consists of a safety switch to cut off controls before preflight checks for safety measures. The aerial system and ground control system (GCS) are connected by a two-way radio communication link to transfer the data to GCS and to receive control signals from GCS.
