Abstract: An elongated stabiliser member (10) with an outer wall (14) defining an interior zone (16) and having an outwardly facing surface (15) approximating a size and shape of an inwardly facing wall zone (119) of a formed bore hole (104). The stabiliser member (10) has an opening (17) extending through said outer wall (14) whereby longitudinally extending edge zones (20, 21) of said opening (17) are able to move towards one another under action of applied external forces. The stabilizer member (10) is characterised by a cover member (25) positioned to at least partially close said opening (17) from a position (23) at or adjacent said second longitudinal end (13) to an intermediate position (28). At least one of two longitudinally extending regions (29,30) of said cover member (25) is configured, in use, to move relative to a longitudinally extending edge zone (20, 21) of said opening (17).
