Abstract: An offline real-time multilingual classroom translation system (100) and method (200) for facilitating multilingual communication between an instructor and a plurality of trainees are disclosed. The system (100) comprises an edge-computing translation server (102), a communication network (104), an instructor communication device (106), and a plurality of trainee communication devices (108). Instructor speech captured through a Bluetooth microphone (106-1) is transmitted to the edge-computing translation server (102), wherein automatic speech recognition (ASR), multilingual machine translation (MT), and text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis are executed locally without internet connectivity. The edge-computing translation server (102) generates translated audio streams corresponding to multiple target languages and broadcasts the translated audio streams to trainee communication devices (108) through the communication network (104). The system (100) further supports code-switched Hindi-English speech processing, live translated transcription display, bidirectional multilingual communication, and secure server-side storage of session data.
