Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated sanitary napkin disposal system designed to provide a hygienic, safe, and environmentally responsible solution for managing sanitary waste. The system comprises a disposal chamber equipped with an infrared (IR) sensor for detecting and counting the number of napkins inserted into the unit. The sensor is interfaced with a microcontroller, preferably an Arduino-based controller, which continuously monitors the count. When the number of napkins reaches a predefined threshold, the microcontroller automatically activates a relay module that controls a heating element positioned within the chamber. The heating element incinerates the collected napkins, converting them into ash and thereby reducing waste volume and eliminating the need for manual handling. The disposal chamber is provided with thermal insulation to retain heat and enhance operational safety. Additionally, an exhaust system integrated with a carbon filter is used to treat gases generated during the incineration process, reducing harmful emissions and unpleasant odours before releasing them into the environment. The proposed system operates in a fully automated manner, ensuring improved hygiene, reduced human intervention, and efficient waste management. The compact and user-friendly design makes it suitable for installation in public and private facilities such as schools, colleges, hospitals, offices, and restrooms. Overall, the invention offers a cost-effective and reliable approach to sanitary napkin disposal while promoting environmental sustainability and public health.
