The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is an eco-friendly, cement-free geopolymer mortar composition for masonry applications, comprising an alkali-activated binder formed from industrial by-products including ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), and silica fume. The composition further includes copper slag as a fine aggregate, fully replacing natural river sand, and an alkaline activator selected from sodium hydroxide solution, sodium silicate solution, or a combination thereof, along with water in required proportions. The geopolymer mortar is specifically formulated for masonry works such as bricklaying, blockwork, and plastering, and is capable of curing under ambient conditions without external heat. The mortar exhibits improved workability, bond strength, water resistance, and durability while significantly reducing carbon emissions and conserving natural resources. The present disclosure also relates to a method (100) of manufacturing the geopolymer mortar suitable for on-site masonry applications.
