Abstract: The present invention relates to an edible calcium-fortified beverage container and a method for its preparation. The container is formulated using calcium-rich food-grade ingredients such as ragi, sesame seeds, amaranth, oats, and chickpea flour, along with natural binding agents and optional calcium fortifiers including eggshell powder or food-grade calcium carbonate. The mixture is processed through blending, moulding into cup shapes, baking at controlled temperatures, and subsequent drying to obtain a rigid, leak-resistant, and structurally stable edible container. The resulting cup is capable of holding hot and cold beverages for a limited duration while maintaining integrity and providing dietary calcium upon consumption. The invention further allows optional flavour customization and ensures a shelf life under dry storage conditions. After use, the container is edible or biodegradable, thereby eliminating waste generation. The invention provides a sustainable alternative to conventional disposable cups by integrating functional food packaging with nutritional enhancement and environmental protection.
