Abstract: An electrical connector to provide easy and reliable locking and unlocking. A locking member may be slidably mount to a housing of the connector such that it may slide between a locked state in which it is positioned to engage a complimentary locking member from a mating connector and an unlocked state in which it is clear of the complimentary locking member. The locking member may be biased by an elastic member into the locked state. An activating portion may extend from a base of the locking member, such that when the activating portion is pressed the locking member may slide into the unlocked state. When the activating portion of the locking member is released, the elastic member may push the locking member back to the locked state. The locking member may deflect such that, when in the locked state, the complimentary locking member may be inserted into the connector.
