The electrolyte for a lithium-sulfur battery comprises a nonaqueous solvent, a lithium salt, a nitrate and an aryl derivative, wherein the nonaqueous solvent comprises a heterocyclic compound containing one oxygen atom (O) or sulfur atom (S) in the cyclic structure and glycol ether, and the aryl derivative comprises both a selenium-based aryl derivative and a tellurium- based aryl derivative.
