MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541041019 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. , Ltd. on April 28, 2025, for Electronic Device And Methods For Improving Temporal Stability In Video Segmentation.
Inventors include Shiwam Singh; Josyula Venkat Narasimham; and Soumen Basu.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Electronic device and methods for improving temporal stability in video segmentation Embodiments disclosed herein relate to an electronic device (200) and methods (300) for improving temporal stability of video panoptic segmentation models for generating stable segmentation output over consecutive frames. The methods (300) include a consistency-guided loss function consisting of a sub-sample level repulsion term formulation for application in the video panoptic segmentation. The methods (300) include a neural architectural block which enables sub-sample level feature generation for calculating the repulsion term of the consistency-guided loss function. The methods (300) use past-frames with a lightweight neural sub-sample level feature generator block, and a loss function for training one or more network models for obtaining a temporally stable output in video panoptic segmentation.
