Abstract: The invention relates to hazard detection and emergency alert system for a mining operation using AI and IoT. It is composed of a processing unit, dangerous gas sensor, temperature sensor, smoke sensor, vibration sensor, AI prediction module and IoT communication module. The safety parameters related to the environment and operation of the mining area are monitored periodically. Current and historical sensor data is fed into an AI-based prediction module that detects abnormal sensor readings and forecasts potential dangerous conditions. An advance warning is produced when a monitored or predicted parameter gets close to an unsafe level. If it is detected, an emergency alert is created. Using IoT connectivity, status of mine safety, detected hazards information and the notification of emergencies can be communicated to mine workers, supervisors, a mobile application, web dashboard, or central control room. The system helps to minimize reliance on manual inspection and allows for proactive and timely safety management in mining activities.
