Abstract: The present disclosure relates to compositions comprising (a) a core comprising (i) Megasphaera elsdenii cells, anaerobic bacterial cells, or anaerobic bacterial cells in a vegetative state; (ii) at least one carrier; and (iii) one or more lipids, and (b) at least one layer of one or more lipids. In some aspects, the core is coated by the layer of one or more lipids and at least 10% of the Megasphaera elsdenii cells, anaerobic bacterial cells or anaerobic bacterial cells in a vegetative state are viable in the composition. The present disclosure also relates to feed additives, feeds, premixes, and kits comprising the compositions described above.
