MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109556 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Encrypted File-Storage Appliance With Access-Responsive Decoy Routing.

Inventors include Shivam Kashyap; Shikhar Mishra; Shaurya Pratap Singh; and Md Ishfaque Ahmed.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a file-storage appliance that selectively delivers genuine or decoy file content according to access behavior. An enclosure supports genuine-data and decoy- data storage modules, and an access interface receives credential presentations and file-access requests. A cryptographic circuit encrypts genuine file content before storage. An attempt-monitoring circuit changes from a normal-access state to a suspicious-access state after a threshold number of unsuccessful credential presentations. A selector circuit provides respective signal paths from the storage modules to an output interface. Successful verification in the normal-access state enables the genuine-data signal path. In the suspicious-access state, the selector circuit electrically isolates the genuine-data signal path and enables the decoy-data signal path, causing delivery of decoy file content while the genuine file content remains encrypted.
