Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is an energy monitoring and adaptive load forecasting system for residential homes and electrical distribution networks. The system comprises a sensing arrangement for acquiring electrical parameter data from at least one residential load and at least one distribution asset, a conditioning arrangement for generating conditioned feature data by outlier removal, missing-data imputation, and feature extraction, a communication arrangement for transmitting the conditioned feature data, a forecasting arrangement for generating a forecast output for a future interval by combining outputs of a plurality of forecasting models in accordance with residual-error-based weighting, a stress evaluation arrangement for generating a thermal stress indication for the at least one distribution asset from the forecast output, and a recommendation arrangement for generating an operational action signal for issuance of an alert or initiation of load-management control within the residential homes or the electrical distribution networks.
