The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: Abstract The objective of the current research is to design a biodegradable film by isolating fibers from stem of Cissus quadrangularis and aerial roots and leaves of Ficus benghalensis by the technique of water retting. The isolated fibers constitute the framework of the film. Moreover, the film will containPhyllanthus emblica seed powder which acts as an agro-waste containing many bioactive components to impart antioxidant properties to it. Glycerol and sorbitol act as plasticizers and provide flexibility to the film. The designed film is likely to have biodegradability properties along with beingenvironmentally friendlyandhavingantioxidant activity. Notably, the use of these natural fibers along with the seed powder of Phyllanthus emblicain the formulation of the film is a novel approach.
