Abstract: The present invention discloses an enhanced microbial fuel cell electrode comprising a composite material formed by integrating bismuth ferrite nanoparticles with carbon soot for improved bioelectricity generation. The disclosed composite electrode combines the catalytic and charge separation properties of bismuth ferrite nanoparticles with the high conductivity and porous structure of carbon soot to enhance microbial attachment, extracellular electron transfer, and electrochemical performance. The composite electrode reduces charge transfer resistance, increases active electrode surface area, and improves electron transport pathways between electroactive microorganisms and the electrode interface. The invention provides a cost-effective and scalable approach for improving voltage output, current density, power generation, and operational stability of microbial fuel cells utilizing organic substrates including wastewater and biodegradable waste materials for sustainable energy production.
