Abstract: ENHANCED DATA RECOVERY PROCEDURE Example embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to enhanced data recovery. In a method, a first apparatus generates, on a first protocol layer, a feedback message of a first data packet from the second apparatus. The first apparatus transmits, to the second apparatus and via a first protocol layer of the second apparatus, the feedback message of the first data packet. For example, the first apparatus transmits a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback message to the second apparatus. The first apparatus receives, from the second apparatus, a retransmission of the first data packet from a second protocol layer of the second apparatus without receiving a retransmission of the first data packet from the first protocol layer of the second apparatus. For example, the first apparatus receives an automatic repeat request (ARQ) retransmission via a radio link control layer instead of an HARQ retransmission.
