Abstract: ENTRY POINT GUIDE INSTRUMENT FOR INSERTING AN IMPLANT An entry point guide instrument for inserting an implant is disclosed. The entry point guide instrument provides accurate insertion of a trocar guide wire at the greater trochanter and the pyriformis fossa of the femur bone. The entry point guide instrument 100 comprises gripping means including a handle 102 and a hollow cylindrical sleeve 106. The tip of the cylindrical sleeve 106 may be narrow and beveled or serrated for providing access through the human tissue and preventing slipping of the instrument on the anatomical structures. The cylindrical sleeve 106 comprises a longitudinal slit or opening 112 across at least a portion of its length for providing access for cleaning the cylindrical sleeve to remove any stuck blood, blood clots, human tissues or bone splinters, and also improve sterilization of the instrument.
