The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT CIRCUIT FOR SIMULATING A PHOTONIC DIRECTIONAL COUPLER Examples of a circuit for simulating a photonic directional coupler are described. In an example, the circuit may include a first input node and a 5 second input node configured to receive input signals representative of a first input electric field and a second input electric field. The circuit further includes cross-coupling current sources scaled by a cross-coupling factor and controlled by the input nodes. The circuit further includes phase shifting elements coupled between each cross node and a reference node, wherein 10 a reactance value of each phase shifting element is defined in dependence on an angular frequency of an input optical signal. The circuit further includes forward-coupling current sources scaled by a forward coupling factor and cross-transfer current sources controlled by the cross nodes. An output signal at each output node is a superposition of outputs of the 15 forward-coupling and cross-transfer current sources coupled to the output node. 28
