MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110327 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Eu-Mof@mxene Hybrid Nanocomposite For Fluorescence-Based Detection Of Cr3+ And Sb3+ Ions.

Inventors include Kirtanjot Kaur; Shalini Dubey; and Ajay Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a Eu-MOF@MXene hybrid nanocomposite for fluorescence-based detection of Cr 3+ and Sb 3+ ions in aqueous systems. The nanocomposite comprises a luminescent europium-based metal-organic framework prepared using europium nitrate and 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, integrated with Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene nanosheets by wet impregnation. The Ti 3 C 2 T x is prepared from Ti 3 AlC 2 by LiF/HCl-assisted etching, washing, delamination and drying. The hybrid material combines the luminescent characteristics of the Eu-MOF with the conductive and surface-active characteristics of the MXene. Interaction with Cr 3+ and Sb 3+ produces fluorescence quenching, while the hybrid interface facilitates electron transfer and contributes to the sensing response. The material is applicable to aqueous and real water sample analysis for environmental monitoring.
