MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641125201 A) filed by Dayananda Sagar University on October 19, 2026, for Ev Spotter: A Smart Real-Time Slot Booking And Scheduling System For Electric Vehicle Recharging Using Genai.

Inventors include Chavva Subba Reddy; K. Vengatesan; V. Karuppuchamy; and Ramesh Sekaran.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: EV Spotter, a smart, real-time slot booking and scheduling system for electric vehicle recharging using generative artificial intelligence, is disclosed. The system comprises a driver-facing mobile/web application through which a driver submits a charging request in natural language or structured form; a generative-AI-based conversational assistant that parses the request to derive location, time window, vehicle type and urgency, and communicates recommendations back in natural language; a real-time charger-availability aggregation module spanning multiple charging-station operators; a demand-forecasting module that predicts, using a trained machine-learning model, the likely occupancy and waiting time of a candidate station at a driver's expected arrival time rather than relying on present occupancy alone; a dynamic slot-allocation and scheduling engine that ranks candidate station-and-time-slot combinations using real-time and forecast occupancy, route, remaining vehicle range, and price; a reservation module that locks a confirmed slot, checks for conflicting bookings, and automatically releases an unclaimed slot after a configurable grace period; a payment and dynamic-pricing module; and a push-notification module. By combining natural-language interaction, predictive occupancy forecasting, and multi-station dynamic scheduling within a single architecture, the invention reduces charger-hunting behaviour, improves the reliability of electric- vehicle charging reservations, and increases the effective utilisation of charging infrastructure across independent charging networks.
