Inventors include Iwashina Katsuya; Yuki Hinata; Ido Youhei Wo No; Aihara Keigo; and Kuramochi Satoru Application Number.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing an exhaust gas purification catalyst that exhibits an improved methane purification performance during the high-speed operation of an internal combustion engine. In order to solve this problem, the present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst (1A) comprising: a first catalyst layer (20) containing Pd; a second catalyst layer (30) containing Pt, Ce, and an alkaline earth metal element; and an Rh-containing third catalyst layer (40) and/or an Rh- containing fourth catalyst layer (50). The mass as metal of Pt in the second catalyst layer (30) is at least 1.0 g/L. In the second catalyst layer (30), the ratio of the mass as CeO2 of Ce to the mass as metal of Pt is 6.0-20.0. Also in the second catalyst layer (30), the ratio of the mass as CeO2 of Ce to the mass as the oxide of the alkaline earth metal element is 2.0-18.0.
