Abstract: ABSTRACT EXPLAINABLE AI-INTEGRATED REAL-TIME PORTABLE CROP RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM BASED ON INTERNET OF THINGS FOR PRECISION AGRICULTURE A portable crop recommendation system (100) comprises an RS485 multiparameter soil sensor (102) that measures nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, soil temperature, soil moisture, pH and electrical conductivity. An embedded processing unit (106) reads the sensor through an RS485 interface (104). A data validation and preprocessing module (108) checks the readings and forms a soil feature vector; when the readings fail a data-quality criterion, the system withholds the recommendation and requests a repeat measurement. A crop inference module (110) applies a trained machine-learning model stored in a memory (114) to rank candidate crops. An explainability module (112) explains the ranking from parameter contributions, stored crop-specific suitability ranges, or both, naming favourable and limiting soil parameters. An output interface (116) shows the readings, ranked crops, explanation and data-quality status; an optional IoT communication module (118) sends results to a mobile device or remote service (120).
