The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: A sustainable process extracts cellulose from cow dung from indigenous cows via drying, powdering, NaOH-urea treatment, bleaching, yielding products: nanofibers (electrospinning/homogenization, 50- lOOnrn diameter), Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), derivatives of cellulose (degree of substitution 0.7-1.0), different inks like pen ink (100-500 cP viscosity, 10s drying), paper (80-120 gsm, 20 MPa tensile), activated carbon ( 70% fixed carbon), containers, fuel molecules etc. Characterization of these done as per requirements of products via FTIR/XRD/SEM confirms quality equivalent to commercial standards. The integrated process achieves 95% raw material utilization with zero hazardous waste, enabling waste valorization and circular economy implementation. Modified processes are simple, equipment-lean, and scalable for rural manufacturing, creating employment in agricultural communities. This work explains extraction of cellulose based biodegradable products, nano cellulose, nanofibers, CMC, printing inks, high strength papers, containers, fuel molecules, nano carbon etc. from indigenous cows cowdung powder (CD).
