Sreekanth on August 03, 2026, for Fault Detection In Renewable Ac Microgrids Using Gaussian Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine, And Random Forest.

Inventors include St. Josephs College Of Engineering; Sinduja B; Vinothini S; and Mr. R. Sreekanth.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The current invention presents an automated fault detection system which operates through machine learning together with feature extraction methods to observe renewable AC microgrid systems. The microgrid system conducts simulations of various fault types which include line-to-ground faults line-to-line faults double line- to-ground faults and three-phase faults at different microgrid locations. The system processes voltage signals to obtain essential statistical parameters which include mean voltage and root mean square (RMS) value and voltage unbalance. The extracted feature set is utilized for training and testing machine learning algorithms including Gaussian Naive Bayes Support Vector Machine and Random Forest for intelligent fault detection and classification. The proposed system enhances fault identification accuracy while reducing misclassification rates and delivering better system reliability throughout dynamic renewable energy operational conditions. The invention provides an efficient data-driven and scalable protection solution which modern smart grid and renewable microgrid systems can implement.
